The PJS Events calendar is your go-to resource for planning your visit, staying up to date on new livestock arrivals, and taking advantage of everything PJS Tropical Fish has to offer. Here's a breakdown of the recurring events you'll find on the calendar:
Walk-In Windows — Wednesday, Thursday & Friday
PJS offers scheduled walk-in windows Wednesday through Friday during the afternoon and early evening hours (typically 3:00–7:00 PM Wed/Thu, and 3:00–8:00 PM on Fridays). While walk-ins are welcome during these windows, reserving a time slot in advance is strongly encouraged to ensure personal, one-on-one service. Time at PJS is dedicated and intentional — booking ahead helps PJ focus on giving every client the attention they deserve.
Walk-In Saturday
Saturday is the most open day of the week at PJS, with walk-in hours running from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM — no appointment necessary. Clients are served in order of arrival. Please note: PJS is a working warehouse, not a retail showroom. If you're coming to browse without the intent to purchase, this is not the event for you. Children must remain under constant adult supervision at all times.
PJS PALS Sunday Event
Every Sunday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM is reserved exclusively for PJS PALS members. This members-only in-store shopping day gives PALS subscribers first access to available livestock and the full PJS experience without the general public present. Not a member yet? PJS Incoming Shipments
Keep an eye on the calendar for PJS Incoming events — these mark the days when fresh livestock is arriving at the facility, whether from Florida freshwater sources or saltwater imports. Each Incoming event notes the type of stock and origin, so you always know what's on its way. New arrivals need time to acclimate before being available, so check the Available Livestock list after an incoming event for updated stock.
PJS Work for Fish
One of PJS's most unique offerings, Work for Fish is a periodic Saturday event (10:00 AM–3:00 PM) where participants can earn fish by helping out at the facility. Inspired by a love for the hobby and a desire to do things differently, PJS created a real opportunity for enthusiasts to get hands-on experience — and go home with fish they earned themselves. Closed Days
PJS is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays each week. These days are used for receiving, fish care, and facility operations. Plan accordingly when scheduling your visit!
