Description

Metynnis sp. Silver Dollar

The Metynnis Silver Dollar (Metynnis argenteus) is a large, peaceful fish native to the rivers of South America. Its silvery body resembles a coin, hence its name. Silver Dollars are herbivorous and enjoy a diet of plant-based foods, including vegetables and algae wafers. They require a spacious tank with room to swim and thrive in groups of five or more. This species is ideal for larger, peaceful community aquariums.
